Course Description:

 

      The Pediatric CPR and First Aid Training Programs are designed to train employees on CPR, use of the AED, and First Aid by teaching how to respond and care for medical emergencies involving children and infants, as well as adults. 

     The Pediatric Training Programs are intended for the occupational first aid provider such as Child care workers, Teachers, Foster care workers, Camp counselors, Youth group leaders, Coaches and any others responsible for children, etc, and can help employers meet OSHA and other federal and state regulatory requirements for training employees how to respond and care for medical emergencies involving children and infants, as well as adults.

 

Course Content Includes:

• First aid basics

• Medical emergencies

• CPR Class for Infants and Children plus use of an AED

• Injury emergencies

• Optional pediatric first aid modules are:

  - Pediatric first aid topics (eye injuries; fever; suspected abuse; and snake, spider, scorpion, tick and

    marine animal bites and stings)

  - Environmental emergencies

 

  • Course length is 7 hours  (including breaks) as per The State of California EMS Authority, in order to Re-Certify, all students must attend the full training.  This course is not offered as a Re-Certification.
  • CPR Certification is valid for 2 years (with EMSA sticker) after the successful completion of written and skills testing
